Email Marketing

Email Marketing is sending relevant content to a contact list of interested readers by, funnily enough, email. Email marketing can be a very effective method of sharing news and information with people of interest to you. For clarification, email marketing is NOT spam. Spam will most often only see you lose respect and tarnish the image of your company.

The list of recipients can be arranged and maintained yourself if you are able to encourage interested people to sign up. Some incentive to be on your list such as useful articles or special offers is generally the most effective method of encouraging recipients to pay attention to your emails.

You will gain and maintain a larger email list if you inform subscribers of your email newsletter or marketing service that you have strict privacy measures in place and do not plan on selling or sharing their email address or contact details with anyone.

Also be sure to inform subscribers approximately how often you will contact them. Keeping your frequency of emails between once every 2 weeks to once every 3 months is recommended depending on the content being sent. There are some exceptions though, in some industries weekly emails can be effective if frequent information updates are necessary or the emails are very brief and relevant. Too many emails will result in your subscribers losing interest, while too few may do the same.

Joint Email Marketing Campaigns

It is also possible to conduct joint email marketing campaigns with businesses who already have an established client list. Or you may buy lists of email contacts of people who have consented to receive emails regarding certain topics and offers. The effectiveness of these bought lists is fairly industry dependent and your self created contact list will usually see a much better response as you will usually already have some sort of relationship with those recipients. Generally a joint campaign can see more fruitful results. For those customers with ANZ, you may have received letters sent by ANZ but regarding offers from ING or from credit card companies like VISA or MasterCard. These are joint campaigns that are conducted by letter mail. The same can be transcribed online, yet less costly and more time efficient.
