Meet Mikk

He’s the Technical Director

When something gets technical at the Eightball Media office it is passed straight to Mikk. Fortunately, Mikk likes the technical stuff which is probably why he is so good at it. Mikk’s in-depth knowledge of programming and the technical aspects of pretty much anything to do with computers makes Mikk a pretty handy guy to have in a web design company.

Meet Shen

He’s the Managing Director

A brilliant thinker, a talented business manager and an extremely handsome man – these are all words that Shen uses to describe himself. One thing is for sure, Shen is a busy bee. In addition to managing web design projects, running social media seminars and attending meetings Shen also finds time to train for martial arts tournaments. Legend has it that Shen never actually sleeps.

Meet Mike

He’s the Key Account Executive

Mike is a quick-witted, customer service veteran. He’s also really tall. A fanatical multi-tasker, Mike is pretty good at managing everything you can possibly imagine, hopping from phones, enquires, sales meetings and random Simpson’s quotes in one seamless burst of energy. A day next to Mike is never dull, self deprecating and darkly hilarious, a bad mood is a poor competition against his repertoire of one-liners and ever present jar of unsalted almonds.

He’s an Eightball Web Developer

With his round-rimmed glasses, strokable Asian beard and a wealth of website development knowledge he has been dubbed the WordPress Master. He may seem quiet at times, but he has a great sense of humour and always kicks-ass in a game of pool. If there is ever anything anyone needs on a website and it doesn’t seem possible, Steve will dig deep into his website knowledge and pull out great solutions.

She’s an Eightball Graphic Designer

If you think Kristy looks like a delightful sort of person to have in the office you are right. One of the longest serving member in our team Kristy is filled with loads of creative talent and plenty of sweet skills in web design & development and has also joined the online marketing world. In case that’s not enough, Kristy often bakes biscuits and cakes and shares her home cooking with the team. Peanut butter cookies, yum…

He’s an Eightball IT Support

If there any technical issues with your website or emails Joel is the person to talk to. He’s friendly over the phone and will comb through those codes to make sure things are running efficiently. Not only is he talented in solving tech problems, Joel is also a whizz at crafting woodwork.

Meet Daniel

He’s an Eightball Web Developer

Daniel is a cheerful developer with excellent skills in WordPress. He is passionate about problem-solving and has tremendous patience to get to the bottom of things. Daniel loves 90s pop music and has a great sense of humour (we asked him to tell us a joke, and he replied with, “joke!”). When he’s not in front of the computer creating websites or researching the latest WordPress news he spends his time on his hobby, carpentry.

Meet Jarelle

She’s an Eightball Web Developer

Jarelle is our resident coding Ninja. She applies great dedication to Web Developing with limited fuss and deadly skills. We suspect ‘efficiency’ may, in fact, be her middle name. Naturally, there are a few surprises up her sleeve. Not only is she an experienced Web Developer, but she’s also a Graphic Designer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Film, TV and New Media. Jarelle enjoys a good true crime podcast. She’s also a proud houseplant Mumma to a thriving Monstera.

Meet Rachel

She’s an Eightball SEO Specialist

Rachel is a Computer Engineering Graduate. However, she’s much more in love with SEO than she is with coding. She is your gal for when you’re wanting to improve your Google Rankings.

Rachel is also the go-to for when you want to catch all the juicy things going on in K-dramas (Korean TV shows). For more of snap-shot of her downtime, Rachel puts quality time with her family right up there, and has her sights set on a one-day trip to Rome!

Meet Bonnie

She’s an Eightball Copywriter

Bonnie is a copywriter and a craftsperson of all things literary and lyrical. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and enjoys converting people’s visions into the written word. Now that she’s flexing her writing muscles in the Eightball office, she consistently delivers the punchiest of material across a wide range of formats. Bonnie has written a poetry collection and ran her own visual podcast series named Conversations over Coffee. Outside of work, you’re most likely to find her at live gigs and festivals!

Meet James

He’s an Eightball Graphic Designer

James is an inventive and intrepid graphic designer who enjoys the challenges and opportunities of web building. He finds it super fun to be able to create such powerful tools for businesses and is highly motivated by putting together the puzzle of multiple users and their journeys. James also appreciates seeing the work he’s done “out in the wild”.

James is quick to pick up a pen or pencil and start sketching in almost any circumstance. With a host of travel destinations to conquer on his ultimate bucket list, he also hasn’t met a rock face or indoor course he hasn’t wanted to climb!

She’s an Eightball Studio Manager

Kirby is Eightball’s Studio Manager and all-round superstar. Her dynamic yet collaborative energy allows her to handle any situation with ease. As a lover of nature, Kirby is an avid hiker and explorer of all things new – including the latest bars and restaurants! Her favourite thing about working for Eightball is that no day is the same. She is proud to lead and work alongside such a diverse team of creatives.

She’s an Eightball Social Media Manager

Kanishka is our in-house Social Media Manager/Guru. As an avid reader and tracker of online trends, Kanishka brings a fresh perspective and can-do attitude to each project, along with a natural eye for detail.

Like the rest of the Eightball team, Kanishka isn’t afraid of a challenge and enjoys our wide array of clients to keep the creative juices flowing. In her spare time, she likes to capture the beauty of nature and our surroundings through professional photography, which she hopes to exhibit one day.

Tony is an application developer wizard. He can build anything from scratch and knows all the back-end lingo that most people would get confused by. He always thinks outside the box and gains sweet new skills daily. When he’s not working, Tony enjoys gaming and watching movies. He can’t live without his supportive family and computers—they’re his lifeline!

Matt held a Bachelor’s in IT and was living in New Zealand before joining us at Eightball Media. He hopes to learn new skills in advanced web animation and be a landlord one day. He loves social and professional networking, travelling, and playing badminton in his free time.

When he’s not working, Anthony enjoys a warm cup of coffee on a cold morning and can be found exploring the ocean’s depths as a certified scuba diving instructor.

Meet Elisabeth (A.K.A Liz), our Junior Marketing Strategist and Google Ad Manager at Eightball. Like most Gen Zs, she’s got a natural knack for the internet world and has turned the dig of ‘being glued to her phone’ into a rewarding career path. According to Liz, the best thing about her role is collaborating with diverse companies and tailoring strategies to support their growth. Looking ahead, she aspires to deepen her industry knowledge and help companies unlock the full potential of effective marketing. Beyond work, Elisabeth enjoys the unique hobbies of fencing, dance, and K-pop covers.

He’s an Eightball Project Manager

Meet Sergio, our Project Manager at Eightball. Before joining our team, Sergio spent the last decade in London, cultivating a unique perspective through travel and close friendships. What sets Eightball apart for Sergio is the family-like atmosphere, fostered by our team’s authentic personalities and talents. In his role, Sergio relishes engaging with fascinating businesses and building long-lasting client relationships. He aims to achieve unwavering customer satisfaction while honing his social and project management skills. Outside of work, you’ll most likely spot him enjoying a live gig or DJing for Brisbane’s vibrant nightlife.

Meet Jazz

Jazz is one of Queensland’s design superstars, having already worked as a designer for multiple agencies and non-for-profits, as well as doing freelance work in between. In her free time, Jazz does a little bit of everything: plays piano and guitar, takes care of her plant family, and binges video essays.

But her biggest project of all? The new pet pufferfish that she’s excited to become a parent to. So don’t ever say that she shies away from unique or dangerous work…

Meet Jack

Jack joined the team with two years’ worth of corporate content writing and SEO experience – but as a creative writing graduate and a dabbling writer himself, it was Eightball’s focus on inspiring, uniquely branded copy that made him so excited to join the team and stretch his abilities. When he’s not busy providing a huge range of diverse website copy for our clients, Jack relaxes by reading, going to movies, re-watching Mad Men for the fifteenth time, listening to music, and generally indulging in anything artistic.
