ABOUT THE CLIENT
A leading provider of psychological and wellbeing support services for children across Brisbane, Kids Matters is one of the most trusted places for child development support, mental healthcare, and educational resources to help kids grow and thrive.
As their services grew, their existing website soon became cluttered and unhelpful for users. Kids Matters needed a newly refreshed online presence that better reflected their brand and made it easy for parents, educators, or service providers to find the information they needed.
OUR AIMS
When Eightball came into the picture, our task was to eliminate confusion and focus on what truly made Kids Matters different within the childcare industry. Their website had become cluttered and confusing over time, and they needed a full-scale overhaul to highlight their value.
In addition to their website, Kids Matters also wanted the new design to be consistent with their existing print materials and branding – which meant fun, colourful, and which visually aligned with their mission in supporting kids and families.

THE PROCESS
The primary goal of the project was to simplify the navigation of the site and make sure that all key services were easy to find. Our work was laid out for us, since many of the new pages of the website had been added without a clear structure or overall user experience.
This meant that the existing Kids Matters site desperately needed a streamlining to re-connect their orphaned pages into an intuitive flow that was helpful for users. After our copywriting and design team went through and optimised the flow and usefulness of the site, we also added a dedicated Shop page in order to display products with clear pricing and quick-glance summaries, letting visitors easily browse and buy.
We also redesigned their enquiry form to improve usability for visitors: instead of overwhelming visitors with a long, single-page form, we broke it down into simple, easily understandable step-by-step sections to encourage more users to contact.
Now that the site as a whole was more intuitive, we turned our attention to strengthening the visual brand of Kids Matters to create consistency across all their brand touchpoints. We selected blue and yellow as a playful yet bold and holistic-feeling dominant colour scheme, with touches of other colours subtly integrated throughout the site for a bright yet balanced look.

RESULTS
At the end of the project, Kids Matters now had a far improved web presence that compels users to contact, buy, and find the best choice for their kids. With our approach to streamlined navigation and UX, we made sure that no information is left hidden or hard to find for people who need to find it.
But we’re most proud of the fact that not only does the revised Kids Matters website look great, but is also designed to genuinely help parents and support providers make a far greater difference in the lives of everyday kids who are in need.
With their refreshed online presence, Kids Matters is now better equipped to serve families, educators, and support providers while growing their impact across Australia.
